Starting point: Tbilisi 10:00 – Hotel Pickup Meet your guide and driver at your hotel lobby to begin your exploration of Georgia’s vibrant capital. We will start the day by driving toward the outskirts to see the city’s most monumental landmark.
10:30 – The Chronicles of Georgia Our first stop is the “Georgian Stonehenge.” This massive bronze monument depicts kings, heroes, and biblical scenes, offering a deep dive into the nation’s 3,000-year history. Additionally, you will enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the Tbilisi Sea and the surrounding mountains.
11:45 – Sameba Cathedral Next, we visit the Holy Trinity Cathedral (Sameba), the highest Orthodox church in Georgia. You will have time to explore its stunning architecture, gold-covered dome, and the peaceful gardens that offer a sense of serenity in the heart of the city.
12:45 – Old Tbilisi & Metekhi Church We head into the historic district, starting at Metekhi Church, perched on a cliff overlooking the Mtkvari River. From here, you will see the famous colorful wooden balconies of Old Tbilisi and the equestrian statue of King Vakhtang Gorgasali, the city’s founder.
13:30 – Cable Car to Narikala Fortress Furthermore, we will take a scenic cable car ride from Rike Park up to the ancient Narikala Fortress. You can walk along the fortress walls and stand at the feet of the “Mother of Georgia” (Kartlis Deda) statue for the best views of the entire capital.
14:15 – Abanotubani & Leghvtakhevi Waterfall We descend into the historic Sulphur Bath district (Abanotubani), where the history of Tbilisi began. We will stroll through the brick-domed bathhouses and walk into the hidden Fig Ravine to discover a natural waterfall tucked away in the center of the city.
15:30 – Shardeni Street & Bridge of Peace In addition, we explore the pedestrian Shardeni Street, famous for its galleries, cafes, and carpets.
